Step 1 Take a notebook,  portable  spiral-bound notebook and write  page numbers (1, 2, 3….)

Put down the title in the middle of the page(you may add your design on the page):

Step 7   Design cover page for the front of your notebook. You can create a notebook cover page that says “you” and makes doing your homework a little more interesting.


The Main Principles

* Less is more
It’s better to focus on fewer words but provide full information about them, including collocations, grammatical patterns and possibly example sentences. 

Try not to note down single words. Try and find out what other verbs, adjectives, prepositions etc go together with each word.

* Words, like people, need space
Some space should be left after each entry where students can subsequently add other similar examples, e.g. under

* Lexical notebook is like a diary. Start a new topic on a different page. This way you can add new language to each section as you go along.
